(WXYZ) - The frigid temperatures made it tough for crews in Detroit to battle a fire that broke out Monday morning inside a Boost Mobile store on the city's west side.
Batallion Chief Shawn McCarty tells 7 Action News the biggest problem is once the fire is out, crews have to go out of service to thaw their lines.
Also, water used to fight the flames freezes quickly and makes an icy mess.
No injuries were reported. The Chief tells us the store may have been vacant because a construction dumpster was found outside the building.
