DETROIT (WXYZ) - Residents on Indiana Street were excited when city crews tore down a long forgotten abandoned home, but they were disappointed with the danger left behind.
A massive hole where the basement once was, left open.
It was several feet deep and filled with debris. Making things worse, it was across the street from Noble school's playground.
Action News Reporter Ronnie Dahl took the issue to city hall.
A spokesperson for Mayor Duggan said it would be filled within 24 hours.
We came back to make sure they followed thru on their promise. When we arrived, we found contractors filling the hole with dirt, making it safe for kids once again.
