DETRIOT (WXYZ) - US Bankruptcy Judge Steven Rhodes has approved a bus trip of the city the Detroit officials had wanted him to take so that he could see the conditions for himself.
Rhodes ordered a closed status conference on July 14, so that details of the trip can be worked out. The courtroom will be closed and only one or two representatives of the city's creditors, one or two representatives or the city and representatives of the US Marshals Offices will be allowed in to participate.
Rhodes also ordered that the representatives for the creditors and the attorneys for the city should meet before the hearing to discuss the tour. The city must file a report on that meeting by July 11.
All details of the tour will be held under seal until after the tour is finished, but order of Judge Rhodes.
