Detroit Historical Museum to reopen this weekend following a 6 month makeover

DETROIT (WXYZ) - The Detroit Historical Museum will reopen to the public on Friday, November 23, after six months' worth of renovations. The revamp includes expanded exhibits and technology upgrades.

The half-year project marked the museum's first major refurbishment since the 1960s.

A new  interactive music lab exhibit allows guests to feel what it's like to be on stage with artists such as Kid Rock. They also can mix their own music and test their Detroit music knowledge. There's also a new outdoor Legends Plaza.  It  features hand prints from a number of Detroit's biggest names, including Barry Sanders, Al Kaline and Elmore Leonard.
