Detroit Institute of Arts offers free bus transportation for Macomb County residents

DETROIT (WXYZ) - The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) will provide free bus transportation to and from the museum for Macomb County residents on Saturday, March 15.

Visitors can browse the collection, participate in art making activities and enjoy two free exhibitions.

For a discounted price of $12 per person, visitors can see the exhibition Samurai: Beyond the Sword.

The DIA is offering the special Macomb County Day as a way to show appreciation for the support from Macomb County residents, who voted to support the DIA through last year's millage.

An Oakland County Day will be held on March 29 and Wayne County Day will be held on April 5.

Hours and Admission
Museum hours are 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Tuesdays–Thursdays, 9 a.m.–10 p.m. Fridays, and 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. General admission (excludes ticketed exhibitions) is free for Wayne, Oakland and Macomb county residents and DIA members. For all others, $8 for adults, $6 for seniors ages 62+, $4 for ages 6–17.
