DETROIT (WXYZ) - Detroit mayoral candidate Tom Barrow is once again challenging Mike Duggan's candidacy.
Barrow and activist Robert Davis filed a lawsuit Monday asking for a temporary restraining order to stop Duggan from distributing education materials related to his write-in candidacy effort.
The pair argue that because Duggan was twice ruled ineligible to run, he has no legal right to run as a write-in candidate either.
Duggan announced he will run as a write-in candidate in late June after an appeals court removed his name from the ballot. The court ruled Duggan filed his petitions for candidacy too soon as he had not yet lived in the city of Detroit for an entire year.
The primary election will take place Tuesday August 6.
