Detroit Police inspector fired following investigation into sexting allegations

DETROIT (WXYZ) - After allegedly texting explicit pictures of himself, a Detroit police official is out of a job today.

Inspector Don Johnson once headed up Homeland Security including the bomb squad but he was demoted after the allegations surfaced late last year that he sent explicit pictures to a subordinate.

Johnson was suspended with pay during the initial investigation .

He was allowed to return to work but demoted and reassigned.

7 Action News has learned that he was terminated after a disciplinary hearing yesterday.
