Police are investigating the death of a 16-month-old boy in a house with no heat or water.
DETROIT (WXYZ) - We're following a developing story - a toddler is dead, found in unlivable conditions.
Now his uncle, mother and her boyfriend are being questioned by Detroit Police.
We know the mother wasn't home when 911 was called. But yesterday afternoon brought a desperate plea for help --from the boyfriend and uncle, who were at home with the toddler at the time.
We're told the conditions inside were horrific. 7 Action News has now learned there was no running water, and no heat, except from space heaters.
In fact, DTE confirms, there hasn't been a legal hook up since 2012.
Police collected evidence from the home in the 19300 block of Keating Street. Among the items? A baby stroller.
The 16-month-old baby boy died after being rushed to the hospital. Sources tell us there were burn marks on his body.
Police aren't calling this a homicide right now, but it may depend on what an autopsy finds.
Those involved are facing possible child neglect charges.
