DETROIT (WXYZ) - Detroit Police are investigating two scenes where people were found with gun shot wounds.
Officials believe it began when a young man told his father he was being followed by a third man.
That incident happened in the area of 2300 Elmhurst on Detroit's west side.
Police say that, after being told about the man, the father approached him. Officers say the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the father in the shoulder.
The father, who does have a license to carry a concealed pistol, fired shots at the suspect, who ran from the scene.
The father was taken to the hospital and listed in serious condition.
A few minutes after that incident, the Detroit Police Department received a call about a shooting in the 2300 block of Richton, a few blocks from the first scene.
That man was taken to the hospital. His condition isn't known.
At this point, police believe the man found with the gun shot wound on Richton is the man who ran from the scene on Elmhurst. However, the investigation is ongoing.
