DETROIT (WXYZ) - Detroit Police say a man pulled from the Detroit River is in Temporary Serious condition at a local hospital.
The rescue happened off McDougall Street, near the tip of Belle Isle. The Coast Guard was also on the scene.
According to a news release from the Coast Guard, they were notified that the man was in the river at around 4:10 pm. They then dispatched a boat to the scene.
The man was pulled from the water by a Coast Guard boat shortly before 4:30 pm and taken to the shore. At the time he was unresponsive.
Video from Chopper 7 showed emergency personnel working on the man. He was loaded into an ambulance and taken to a local hospital.
His identity has not been released. Police will only say he was born in 1972.
Police have not yet said why he was in the water.
