Detroit Police: Passenger shot driver of moving car, dove out and ran from scene as pedestrian hit

DETROIT (WXYZ) - Detroit Police are investigating a bizarre incident on the city's east side, where, officers say, a driver was shot by his passenger and then the out of control car hit a pedestrian.

It's happened at Gratiot and Seneca, shortly after 3:00 pm.

Police say the driver and the 56-year-old pedestrian are both in critical condition.

The passenger of the BMW ran from the scene. Witnesses say he rolled out of the car before it had even stopped moving, saying it was like something out of a movie.

Police at the scene say they have located a gun in a nearby alley.

Officers are still searching for the man who ran from the scene.
