Detroit police have arrested an Uber driver in an alleged sexual assault in Midtown on Thursday night.
Police say 29-year-old Forid Ahmed was arrested around 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
Ahmed allegedly picked up a 21-year-old woman in the ara of 5000 Cass and drove her to an unknown area.
That's when police say he sexually assaulted her.
Uber released this statement:
"What's been reported to police is horrible and is something no one should ever have to go through. As soon as we became aware, we immediately removed this driver's access to uber. We will provide any information to the local authorities that would be useeful for their investigation."
