Detroit Police release sketch in case of woman who was raped over the weekend

DETROIT (WXYZ) - Detroit Police have released a composite sketch of the man wanted for last weekend's kidnapping and rape of a woman who was outside shoveling.

The man is described as being in his mid 20s. He was around 5'5" tall, with a thin build and is believed to weigh around 100 pounds.

He has a medium complexion, with a full black beard.

At the time of the assault he was wearing a navy blue baseball cap with a red old English "A" on it. He was also wearing glasses, a black overcoat, a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black Nike gym shoes.

Police say he was armed with a handgun.

The attack happened around 9:30 a.m. Saturday on Plainview in northwest Detroit.

Police say the man approached the 33-year-old woman and pulled a gun. He then forced her into a car and drove her to an isolated location on the west side where he raped her.

The man then let the woman go and drove a short distance where he dumped the car.
