Detroit's Paradise Valley/Beatrice Buck Park to host free live jazz series

(WXYZ) - For three more weeks in August, the quaint pocket park of Paradise Valley/Beatrice Buck Park (formerly know as Harmonie Park) will pay tribute to the area's musical roots with its Lunchtime in Paradise series.
Each Tuesday afternoon through August 20 the Paradise Valley Orchestra will perform the music of select Michigan jazz masters. Each Thursday, Mack Avenue Records will sponsor afternoon performances by groups on their subsidiary Detroit Music Factory.
The program is part of the larger series Quicken Loans Summer in the Park 2013, which activates four parks in downtown Detroit, Campus Martius Park/Cadillac Square, Capital Park, Grand Circus Park and Paradise Valley/Beatrice Buck Park, with free live entertainment, as well as other cultural, food and market activities.
Tuesdays, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
August 6: Paradise Valley Orchestra performs the music of Kenn Cox, Harold McKinney and Teddy Harris.
August 13: Paradise Valley Orchestra performs the music of Donald Walden, Roy Brooks, Wendell Harrison and Marcus Belgrave.
August 20: Paradise Valley Orchestra performs the music of Teddy Edwards and Gerald Wilson.
