DTE: Hundreds without power after substation breaks down

DETROIT (WXYZ) - Power remains out for hundreds living in the Lafayette Towers Thursday morning.

DTE says they are working to restore power to the residents.

Wednesday about 3,800 customers lost electricity because of a mechanical problem at the Walker Street substation.

The HarborTown high rise on Jefferson was able to keep the elevator running and hallway lights working with the help of a backup generator.
