Four people hurt in crash that sent car into Detroit house, driver in custody

Detroit police have a driver in custody and three people are in the hospital after a speeding car slammed into another vehicle, sending it crashing into a house.

It happened on Tyler, near Petoskey on the city's west side.

Police say a man was driving a white Dodge Charger westbound on Tyler when it lost control and hit a Saturn Vue.

The Vue then went airborne and slammed into a nearby house, causing extensive damage.

A 27-year-old woman and her children, a 3-year-old and 11-month old twins, were inside the house and the time fo the accident. They were not hurt.

The woman driving the Vue was hurt. She is listed in temporary serious condition.

A 47-year-old woman, an 11-year-old boy and a two-year-old girl were also in the Vue. They suffered minor injuries and are in stable condition.

Police say alcohol is considered a factor in the crash.
