GOP VP candidate talks exclusively to Action News

DETROIT (WXYZ) - Ahead of a rally at Oakland University, GOP vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan sat down for an exclusive interview with Action News.

It's the first time the candidate is back in Michigan since his debut appearance in August 24. Many had thought the campaign had written off the state, but Ryan denies the charge.

"Not in the least," said Ryan. "What do you think I'm here for? I'm here because we can and will win Michigan."

The candidate did not go into specifics of a plan, but emphasized the importance of improving the manufacturing industry.

"We have real solutions for a real recovery, and the heart of that is reviving manufacturing," said Ryan. "What Gov. Romney and I have said all along is very specific solutions that help make the auto companies more successful."
