(WXYZ) - Police say a a grenade found Friday night in the backyard of a Detroit home with the pin still in it has been disarmed safely.
We're told one of the residents in the neighborhood moved it into his backyard. The bomb squad is on their way to the scene on the 300 block of Lenox.
Earlier this week, the bomb squad retrieved a grenade that was found next to a home on Chatham Street on Detroit's northwest side.
Police cars had blocked off the intersection at Chatham & Elmira. Investigators say it was a real grenade, but was inert.
7 Action News talked with the homeowner. She was in tears concerned that someone may have put the grenade on the side of her home.
The homeowner's son found the grenade. The homeowner says it looked like the grenade had been pushed down into the ground and her son did not see the pin in it.
She is worried because last year someone threw a gas can at their house.
