Kilpatrick federal corruption trial jury to remain semi-anonymous

DETROIT (WXYZ) - The judge in former Detroit Kwame Kilpatrick's federal corruption trial has ruled that the jury will remain semi-anonymous during the case.

This means that only the attorneys will know their names, and they will not be allowed to investigate the jury.

Court employees will also be monitoring the jury members social media accounts in order to make sure jury members are not talking about the case on their social media accounts.

Attorneys for the prosecution and defense are in court Monday for what is known as Motion day . The judge is considering and ruling on a variety of motions that will set the stage for the trial, which is scheduled to begin next month.

Jury selection in the case is expected to begin Wednesday, when potential jurors will be provided with questionnaires. The process is expected to last until early September when a 16 member jury will be seated.
