Three people now in custody in CVS carjacking, shooting case

DETROIT (WXYZ) - Detroit Police say three people are now in custody in connection to the fatal shooting of a CVS security guard.

Detroit Police Chief James Craig said the department was searching for a third suspect, 20-year-old Jamare Lanell Rucker, Wednesday afternoon. But, shortly after their press conference, officers located Rucker.

Police are still looking for 19-year-old Deonte Ware. We're told Deonte is a person of interest in the case and that they are hoping to speak with him.

On February 26, Courtney Meeks - a security guard at CVS - was shot and killed after confronting carjacking suspects.

Meeks was shot in the head and died at the hospital a short time after the incident.
