ROMULUS, Mich. (WXYZ) - A 23-year-old Detroit man has appeared in court to face charges related to an attack on a woman with the blow torch.
Roderick Neely is accused of abducting the woman at gunpoint, before beating her, pulling her clothes off and burning her with a blow torch. The incident happened on January 22 at 2:00 am.
The 43-year-old woman was able to escape by grabbing a tool and stabbing Neely in the eye.
Neely has been charged with Torture, Unlawful Imprisonment, Assault with Intent to Maim, Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily harm, Assault with Intent to Commit Criminal Sexual Conduct, Felon in Possession and Felony Firearms.
He has been bound over without bond and is currently locked up in the Wayne County Jail.
