Man charged for flashing girls as they walked to schools in Detroit

Detroit (WXYZ) - Detroit Police say tips from the public came in after they released a sketch of a man who they believed had been repeatedly exposing himself to young girls. On Thursday, a man was charged with the crimes.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Mario Robert James , 39, with several counts of Aggravated Indecent Exposure, a 2-year misdemeanor, and Accosting a Child for Immoral Purposes, a 4-year-felony.

The charges are in connection to what happened to three girls.

The first incident happened at LaSalle and Calvert in Detroit.  A 12-year-old girl was walking to Durfee School when James allegedly drove up in a truck and exposed himself to her.

On April 10, he allegedly did the same thing to the girl at the same location.  Later that morning, he approached another 12-year-old girl as she walked at Fullerton and Indiana Street on her way to Noble School.

On May 28, he allegedly approached a 14-year-old girl walking at Lyndon and Sussex on her way to Burns School in Detroit.  This time, he allegedly exposed himself to her and asked her to get in his truck.
