Man taken to the hospital after being shot twice during a police chase through Warren and Detroit

Police in Warren have a man in custody following a wild police chase that ended on Detroit’s west side.

It began when police tried to pull the man over for a traffic stop in Warren.

He took off, leading police along both major streets and side streets, before hitting some parked cars.

He ended up in an alley in Detroit, where an officer tried to block him in. Police say that’s when the man tried to hit the officer with his car. 

The officer fired several shots, hitting the man twice. He was taken to the hospital. His exact condition isn’t known.

Police say he will be taken into custody when he is released from the hospital.
