A Redford man will be arraigned Tuesday on charges connecting to the robbery, carjacking and kidnapping of two grandmother's last week at MotorCity Casino.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced on Monday the 49-year-old, whose name is not being released until the warrant request is signed, is charged with two counts each of: Carjacking, Armed Robbery, Unlawful Imprisonment and Felony Firearm.

According to Worthy, around 5:30 a.m. Thursday, the man got into the car with two women as they were leaving MotorCity.

He then pulled out a hand gun and demanded money from the 68-year-old Sterling Heights woman and 78-year-old Clinton Township woman.

Worthy said he demanded money, took their purses and then ordered them to drive until they reached a field near Schoolcraft and Appoline streets. That's when he ordered them out of the car and took off.

Both women walked two miles until they met a Good Samaritan who drove them to the police station.

The man was arrested on Saturday with help from the Michigan State Police Gaming Division, Detroit Police Department and the Commercial Auto Theft Crew.

He will be arraigned at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at 36th District Court.
