Michigan State Police investigating shooting on I-96 early Sunday morning

DETROIT (WXYZ) - Michigan State Police are investigating a shooting that injured three people early this morning on I-96.

Police tell us the shooting occurred on westbound I-96 at Greenfield just after 4 a.m.

According to Police, the three victims were traveling westbound on I-96 near Greenfield, when an unknown make or model pickup truck pulled alongside them and shot at them.

The victims then lost control of the car before it stopped on the shoulder of the highway. Only one of the victims, a 34-year-old male was hit by gunfire and will survive. The other two injuries resulted from glass shattering in the vehicle.

The three victims of the shooting were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
