Neighbors arrested for home invasion after police standoff in Detroit

Detroit (WXYZ) - It appears a battle between good neighbors and bad neighbors may have come to a head around 5:30 a.m. on Detroit's West Side.

That is when police responded to a 911 call about a break-in at a home near Puritan and Ferguson.  They got there before the suspected would-be burglars left.

Police say the 15-year-old, 18-year-old, and 32-year old males had a gun and barricaded themselves inside.  When they finally surrendered neighbors watching got a surprise.

Neighbors and police say the three all lived together near the home they allegedly broke into.

The attempted rip-off might make it hard to follow the instruction of loving thy neighbor, but for one thing.

Police say another neighbor reported the crime.

The suspects are expected to face firearms and home invasion charges.
