DETROIT (WXYZ) - Its glamor has been dimmed by years of neglect, but there is renewed interest in restoring an historic Detroit gem.
The People for Palmer Park opened up the Palmer Park Log Cabin after more than a decade of it being closed. It was built in 1887, but the organization would like to restore it and turn it into a community center.
Dozens of people arrived for a self-guided tour of the first floor of the house. The upstairs has not been opened to the public.
Restoration would take more than $100,000. Organizers hoped Sunday's afternoon showing would spark interest among donor.
