One teen dead, three other injured after high-speed crash

DETROIT (WXYZ) - Police are investigating a fatal car accident involving a 15-year-old driver and three other teens in Detroit.

It happened on the 5400 block of Holcomb St. near Warren and McClellan. Police say five teens were in a car heading southeast on Holcomb Friday morning when they hit a tree at a high rate of speed.

The 15-year-old male driver, Tyrone Lamb, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. Two 15-year-old male passengers, which included Lamb's cousin, remain in critical condition while a 14-year-old male passenger is stable. Police believe a fourth passenger was somehow able to get out of the vehicle and flee the scene.

Lamb's mother says the teen snuck out overnight. She last saw him when she went to bed at 9:00 p.m. Thursday night.

Investigators believe the car might have been stolen.
