DETROIT (WXYZ) - Detroit police have given the all-clear to a neighborhood on the city's east side.
Comments made by a man during his trial lead police to believe that his home in the 15000 block Rossini St. was booby-trapped, possibly with explosives. Sources tell 7 Action News Joel Suminski, 48, made the remarks during a bench trial in front of Judge Daniel Hathaway.
Suminski was facing several weapons charges stemming from an incident that happened last year . During that situation, investigators say the defendant illegally had a pipe bomb in the house.
After three hours, and a small-scale evacuation, Detroit's Bomb Squad gave the all-clear.
At this time it is unclear if Suminski will face new charges related to today's event.
