DETROIT (WXYZ) - A spokesperson for Detroit City Council President Charles Pugh has confirmed that Pugh will not run for a second term.
The spokesperson says Pugh's original intention when he ran was to only run for one term and to restore credibility to the body in the wake of the recent City Hall scandals. In making the decision, Pugh says he has accomplished his goal.
There is speculation that Pugh may be running for mayor. However, the spokesperson says Pugh has not decided on whether or not he will run for the Mayor's office or return to the private sector.
