DETROIT (WXYZ) - Authorities blew up a suspicious package that shut down a section of Michigan Avenue Thursday morning.
The Detroit Fire Department says they used a water cannon to break open a suspicious package around 7:40 a.m.
Detroit Police, fire and bomb responding to reports of the package on Michigan Avenue between Cass and Third early Thursday morning.
Located on that stretch of Michigan Avenue is the McNamara Federal building.
Police asked those in the area to turn off their cell phones.
No further details have been released at this time.
