DETROIT (WXYZ) - Triumph Church has designated Saturday, November 2, 2013, as "Financial Independence Day."
The church will host several free financial seminars to educate the community on different segments of money management. The event will be held from 9:00am through 1:00pm at Triumph's East Campus, located at 2760 East Grand Boulevard at I-75 in Detroit.
The general session in the afternoon will be devoted to financing higher education. It will be led by Shayla Price, who is known as the "Scholarship Queen" because she was awarded $100,000 in scholarship money and graduated from law school without student loan debt. She is author of The Scholarship Search and will share strategies to help high school, undergraduate and graduate students earn free money for college.
Other "Financial Independence Day" educational seminars will explore topics such as budgeting, credit management, eldercare, investing and planning for retirement. A special youth track will include workshops designed to teach 14-17 year olds money management, wealth building and personal and professional presentation skills.
Admission to the event is free and open to the public. For more information, call Triumph Church at 313-386-8044 or visit http://www.triumphch.org/FID .
