DETROIT (WXYZ) - 7 Action News has confirmed that two children, ages 1 and 4, have died after being pulled from a burning home on Detroit's west side.
Shortly after 1 p.m. Detroit Firefighters were dispatched to the report of a house fire on the 16000 block of Prairie near McNichols and Livernois.
The father of the two boys said he went to a neighbor's house for ten minutes. When we came out, the house was on fire. However, the neighbor said the father of the boys was gone for approximately 30 minutes.
A witness told the dad he saw two men throw something through a window into the home prior to the fire. The men fled in a black Ford F-150.
The children were pulled out of the home by firefighters and given CPR before they were transported to Sinai Grace Hospital and Children's Hospitals.
While police are treating this as a possible arson, we're told space heaters were used in the home and authorities aren't ruling out any possibilities.
