DETROIT (WXYZ) - Vandals broke into southwest Detroit's Woodmere Cemetery and Crematory and caused thousands of dollars in damage.
Police say vandals spray painted graffiti inside the cemetery property, located along Fort Street, and they apparently scattered ashes throughout a mausoleum. Police say around 20 urns were damaged.
Employees going to work discovered the vandalism.
Detroit Police Department evidence technicians spent Thursday evening looking for clues as to who vandalized the property.
Officers says thousands of dollars in damage was done to the property.
