One person has been shot on westbound I-94 at the Lodge. The freeway is back open after being closed for several hours while police investigated.

Chopper 7 was over the scene and showed a car riddled with bullet holes surrounded by officers.

We're told they were taken to Henry Ford Hospital by Detroit police.

According to Michigan State Police, the 28-year-old man was shot multiple times. He is in critical condition. A 25-year-old woman was also in the car but she was not injured.

Police are searching the area and using K-9's to try and find the suspect.

According to police, the incident was not random road rage, and say a dispute led up to the shooting.

MSP says the freeway will be closed through rush hour while they investigate and are asking everyone to avoid the area.
