The family of Frank Juncaj is desperate for answers. The 58-year-old was found dead inside his Coney Island Restaurant in southwest Detroit a week ago around 9:30 in the morning.

Someone had shot him in the chest.

“For me the toughest part is not to have him ever in my life.  He was my husband my friend, the father of my kids, the provider, everything,” said Frank’s widow Hana Juncaj. “We just want to know why. Who did it? And we want closure in all this.”

Loved ones cannot understand why someone would commit the senseless crime. They told 7 Action News that Frank was loved by thousands of people in the community, of all walks of life.

He owned the restaurant for well over 30 years and enjoyed being there six days a week.

“Nothing is going to bring him back, but the fact that he made such an impact on the community and people love him so much is the only silver lining in the  whole situation,” said Nicholas Juncaj.

Because Frank was so adored by so many people, family members hope someone with information on his murder comes forward to police. They are making a plea to anyone holding clues.

“Somebody saw something and somebody needs to do something and say something. That’s the least that someone can do,” said Nicholas Juncaj.

If you have any information call Detroit Police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. All calls are anonymous.
