Wing tips of two Southwest Airlines jets collide at Metro Airport

ROMULUS, Mich. (WXYZ) - 7 Action News has learned that two Southwest Airlines jets were damage in an accident this morning at Metro Airport.

Airport spokesperson Mike Conway says the planes were backing out of gates D-21 and D-23 when they clipped each others' wings.

The planes were taken back to their gates and the passengers were taken off. No one was injured in the accident.

Southwest says the two flights affected were Flight 3660 from Detroit to Denver and Flight 2005 from Detroit to St. Louis. 

There were 85 customers and four crew members on Flight 3360 and 38 customers and four crew members on Flight 2005. 

Southwest says they are inspecting the aircraft and working to accommodate their customers on other fights out of Detroit.
