About 20 train cars from a Great Lakes Central Railroad train derailed around 9 a.m. this morning near Howell in Livingston County.
A source with the Livingston County Sheriff's Department says it was reported around 9 a.m. when someone who saw the train derail approached a patrol car.
The source said the train took down some trees and fences nearby, but did not damage any homes or affect any roads. Luckily, no one was injured.
Right now, officials are trying to determine what caused the train to derail and how to remove the wreckage.
