9th-grader dies from injuries after pool accident at East Detroit High School

EASTPOINTE, Mich. (AP) - A 14-year-old boy has died from injuries he sustained in a swimming accident at the pool of his suburban Detroit high school.
East Detroit Public Schools Superintendent Joanne C. Lelekatch announced Tuesday that KeAir Swift died as a result of Friday's accident. He was a ninth-grader at East Detroit High School in Eastpointe.
Lelekatch says Eastpointe police and school personnel continue to investigate the accident, and she didn't disclose details about it. The Associated Press left a message with police seeking comment.
The superintendent says that grief counselors are helping students at the school.
