(WXYZ) - On September 26, there's a bowling event for Myles, a 17-year-old from Roseville.
Myles was just a baby when he contracted a virus that attacked his white blood cells. He was on a ventilator for seven months before coming home.
Eventually, he was taken off the ventilator at home and also the tracheotomy.
Myles' lungs are so damaged that he needs a double lung transplant, but that won't even help.
His family found a doctor in Tampa at the Florida Lung Institute, that can use a procedure to heal Myles' lungs.
The family is looking for help because insurance doesn't cover a portion of the procedure.
They are holding a bowling benefit to help raise money.
It's happening at Bonanza Lanes in Warren on September 26.
It's $20 including three games of bowling and shoes. There is also other surprises and a 50/50 raffle.
For more information or to register for the event, call Tina at 586-339-5439 or Jeremy at 586-822-5361.
