Four condos destroyed by morning fire at St. Clair Shores complex

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. (WXYZ) - Fire crews were on scene for most of the day battling a fire at a condo complex in St. Clair Shores.

The two alarm blaze hit the St. Clair by the Lake condo complex. Fire officials say the wind made it hard to put the blaze out.

Fire crews from five departments were brought to the scene to fight the blaze.

In all, the fire spread to four condos at the complex. A neighbor tells 7 Action News the fire was started when something from a fire in a fire place got stuck in a chimney at one of the units.

Because of the fire, officials asked people to avoid Jefferson Avenue, north of Masonic, while the battled the blaze.

Nobody was hurt in the fire.,However, one resident says her cat is missing.

The fire is still under investigation.
