MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (WXYZ) - The Macomb County Prosecutor has charged a 62-year-old former Warren police officer with having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl.
Dale Malesh has been charged with ten counts of third degree Criminal Sexual Conduct.
Police say the relationship happened between December 2012 and March 2013, while Malesh was assigned to a local high school as a School Resource Officer.
Prosecutors say Malesh and the student would meet either at Malesh's Warren home or at Dooley Park in Roseville.
"The facts of this case shock the conscience," Macomb Prosecutor Eric Smith said in a news release. "This officer was assigned to protect these children, not to prey on them."
Malesh is due to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon. He is already facing four counts of third degree Criminal Sexual conduct for the incident that happened in Warren.
