Fraser Police are investigating a stranger danger incident after, they say, a man tried to trick a boy into getting in the car with him.

Officials say the man told an 11-year-old boy that his mother had been in a terrible accident and to hop into his truck so he could take him to the hospital.

Luckily, the boy didn't believe him.

Kristin Ledford of Fraser Public Schools said, "He ran home, immediately told his parents, who then called police."

It happened around 6:00 pm Monday in the area of 13 Mile and Hayes.

Officials say the student was walking home, in a neighborhood near Mark Twain Elementary School when the man approached him.

Schools officials remind parents to talk with their kids about stranger danger.

"Not to talk to strangers. always be mindful of their surroundings, so in this case we are very proud of the student and he did exactly what he was taught to do."

As for a description of the man, Ledford said, "Police told us that the suspect is a white male, about 30-years-old. He was wearing a black beanie last night. He is white pick-up truck with chrome rims and a scratch or dent on the rear driver side bumper."
