A 67-year-old man from Jackson is facing charges in Mt. Clemens, accused of stealing money from parking meters.
Douglas Charles Hastings has been charged with a misdemeanor charge of Breaking and Entering a coin box and a felony charge of possessing burglar's tools.
Police say he was using homemade tools to break into the meters, take the money and the re-secure the meters.
Hastings was found with $15.25 worth of coins in his pockets when he was taken into custody.
Hastings has been arraigned on the charges and given a $10,000 bond. However, he remains in the Macomb County Jail.
He is due back in court on February 24.
