Macomb Township man accused of pointing a gun at another man over dispute in parking lot

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) - A 56-year old Macomb Township man was arraigned Tuesday on a felonious assault charge after he allegedly pointed a handgun at another man in a bank parking lot.

Pietro Di Benedetto appeared by video for his arraignment in 41-B District Court in Clinton Township.

The criminal complaint says Di Benedetto, who has a concealed weapons permit, pointed a loaded hand gun at a 70-year-old Clinton Township man after they argued after a parking dispute at Huntington Bank on Hall Road, east of Romeo Plank.

Di Benedetto has no prior criminal record. He was released on $10,000 personal bond.

Judge Daniel J. Goulette ordered Di Benedetto to have no contact with the other man or his family members.

If convicted of the charge, Di Benedetto could face a maximum of four years in prison and/or a $2,000 fine.

He is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on June 25.
