Warren police officers arrested a man connected to a series of burglaries that have occurred throughout metro Detroit.

The Warren Police Special Operations Unit placed Nathaniel Browder, 27, under surveillance and witnessed him break into a Valero gas station in Farmington Hills.

Browder was arrested and a search warrant was executed on his residence in Warren.

Detectives were able to recover evidence linking Browder to burglaries in five additional cities.

Browder, who is on parole for previous burglaries, confessed to the series of crimes to investigators.

He was arraigned on five counts of breaking and entering and bond was set at $300,000.

"I am proud of the hard work and cooperation of the men and women of the Warren Police Department in identifying and arresting this suspect quickly," said Warren Police Commisioner William Dwyer. "We will continue to work with surrounding agencies in order to solve any commercial burglaries that this suspect may have committed."
