Two suspects shot in Warren smash and grab incident at tobacco store

WARREN (WXYZ) - Warren Police say two suspects were shot after a smash and grab at a tobacco store early Friday morning.

It happened outside the J & W Tobacco Outlet on 9 Mile near Van Dyke.

Just before 6 a.m. a nearby Burger King manager spotted the suspects after a van smashed into the store front. Meanwhile Warren Police were enroute, responding to the store alarm.

When they arrived they opened fire at the trio of suspects who attempted to flee with thousands of dollars in stolen tobacco products.

One suspect was hit in the arm, another in the elbow and wrist.

Police believe the three men are behind a string of other nearby crimes.
