MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (WXYZ) - Testimony is continuing in the trial of 18-year-old Ihab Maslamani.
The teen has been charged with 21 felony counts, including murder in the death of Matthew Landry.
For parts of the last two days, prosecutors have been playing a taped confession given by Maslamani. In it he confesses to robbing a Flagstar bank branch. During that robbery he was caught on video tape.
However, Maslamani has denied kidnapping and murdering Landry. When questioned about about the murder he told officers "I don't want to get into that. I don't feel you need to know what I did that day. It is not necessary."
During Thursday afternoon's session, testimony is expected to focus on the carjacking of Landry.
There is also the possibility that Maslamani may take there stand in his own defense. However, during the morning court session, Maslamani was seen grinning and talking to his lawyer while his confession was being played. His demeanor could make his lawyer reconsider having his client testify, and keep him off the stand.
