A possible case of stranger danger was caught on video in St. Clair Shores Tuesday afternoon. A concerned mother is now sending out a warning to all parents.

Carrie Hinman can't stop thinking about the what ifs after she claims she caught a stranger calling over to her 3-year-old son and taking photos of him Tuesday afternoon.

Hinman told us, "I literally cried all night. My son could have been gone forever."

The family's home surveillance video system shows the maroon car driving near her house on Gordon in St. Clair Shores while she's outside trimming a tree and her son is in the neighbor's driveway.

She claims the man called out to her son, "Hey little man." Then he started taking photos.

Hinman says this guy still had her nerve to call out to her son with her right there.

In the video, you can see her son quickly run over to the car as mom is right behind, demanding why this stranger is talking to her 3-year-old.

The man told her he was a home inspector and taking photos of the neighbor's home. He would not show her ID when she wanted to see it.

She of course asked her neighbor about this, called mortgage companies, and police, who all said this is highly unusual behavior.

Hinman has alerted police. She described the man as a white male in his 40s with dark hair and a mustache. He was wearing a baseball hat with orange or yellow brim, and dark, thick-rimmed glasses.

Police canvassed the neighborhood right after, but found no signs of the vehicle.
