Two men arrested for armed robbery after assault in Lakeside Mall parking lot

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. (WXYZ) - Sterling Heights Police arrested two men in connection to an attack and robbery in the Lakeside Mall parking lot on March 14.

Police say 20-year-old Kory McKenzie and 20-year-old Demonte Pride, both from Roseville, attacked and robbed a 51-year-old man from Shelby Township as he was walking towards the mall on March 14.

According to police, McKenzie and Pride pulled up to the man and tried to take his briefcase. After a struggle, the man was allegedly hit over the head with an object. The victim was able to get a partial license plate, which police used to locate the suspects.

The victim was taken to the hospital after the incident, where he was treated and released.

Both suspects were arraigned March 17 on armed robbery charges, and given a $200,000 bond. A preliminary exam is set for March 31.
